The Gift of Restoration

The Gift of Restoration

(Title inspired by a conversation with my husband, Greg.  Thanks!)

The 23rd Psalm is probably the most memorized and well-known Psalm in the Bible.  My son is currently intrigued by it.  As I was reading it this morning, something struck me like I was reading it for the first time.  Verse 3 says, “He restores my soul.”

I looked up the word restore and it is defined as “returning something to its original condition.”

What is the original condition of my soul?

God created us to be like HIM!  The original condition of my soul is to be totally connected to my Savior; my mind, will and emotions in total alignment with the will of the Father.  Wow!

When our circumstances pull us in all directions, when it feels like we cannot go on, God restores our soul.  He will bring us back to our original condition, our original purpose…if we will ask Him.

Some versions say, “He renews my strength.”  How many of us can use that on a DAILY basis?

God wants to give us the gift of restoration.  I NEED that!  How about you?

Lord, bring me back into alignment with Your will.  RESTORE my soul.  Thank You for Your gift of restoration in my life.  Thank You for loving me.  I love You with all that I am!
