Chasing the Dream
Running after the vision that plays out before me…
Chasing thoughts that invade my mind like soldiers on a mission…
Not sure where the path leads, yet I dream of the path every time I close my eyes.
What is this that keeps me awake and consumes my subconscious state of mind in the moments before I rise?
To many it will seem like retreat…I’m going “Home.”
But in my heart this is not stepping back. This is moving ahead with a purpose. Home is the place where we became FAMILY. Home is where we learned to love, to laugh, to play, to be…
It is not so much about a place, but a void that needs to be filled.
We started this journey not knowing what God had in store. We took steps together and watched God “part the water.” God has been faithful as He always is to those who chase after Him.
So why the desire to leave? I wish I knew. Is it God? Is it me? Is it something else? I honestly don’t know yet. All I know is that with every breath I am consumed with the feeling that life is about to change. We want to be in a position to be used by God for “divine opportunities.”
We are not sure what that means exactly; or where or when the plan will begin to unfold. All we know for sure is we are ready to find US again. We are ready to be HOME! This journey has been one of the hardest we have ever faced. We have met battles and chaos at every turn. We have fought every day just to make it through the day. We have won some battles and we have lost many along the way. We are leaving broken and changed.
The sweetness of God is that even the losses have changed us for the better. We have defined our goals and God has changed our hearts. The journey will continue even after we leave this place. There is still much to learn and much to assimilate. The wounds we carry will be the scars that define us in the future.
I never want to look upon this place with regret. No! This is the place we build a memorial just like Joshua.
“In the future, your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ “ Joshua 4:6
This is the place God broke our hearts. This is where God reminded us who we are, who we were created to be, and helped us define what we want for our future. This is where we learned to TRUST God.
No matter what the future holds, God has my attention. I am forever ruined for the ordinary…I want more. I want all God has for us.
I am ready to chase the dream…
