Saying Goodbye…
As I say goodbye to you for now, my heart can’t help but ache
But we weren’t given a choice on the turn this path would take
I know God has a plan for you and holds you in His hand
I pray He calms our breaking hearts and helps us understand
Although I’ve never met you in a real life face to face
Through letters and prayer throughout the years, we were bound by God’s precious grace
It is His grace I cling to now as we have to let you go
I will pray for you and your family as they continue to watch you grow
We were blessed to be your family through the years that God allowed
You have grown into a precious child and we are forever proud
My prayer remains for you to always hold onto His hand
As you grow from this child that I now know into a Godly man
I will forever be grateful for the time we got to share
And continue to take you before the throne as I go to Him in prayer
I pray for strength for your family and that His blessing will continue to flow
And that He’ll hold you in the palm of His hand and never let you go
You see, Dear child, as much as I love you it can never compare
To all He holds in store
For as much love as I can give…
He always gives much more
Continue to trust Him with your life and never let Him go
And I will see you again one day
As we stand before His throne
So even though the silence now may keep us apart
Please know you are forever hidden in my heart…
